On the 8th of July 2022, the first “get-together” meeting was held in Marrickville, NSW Australia. This meeting was initiated by A/Prof Tino Mercado, Specialist Periodontist. The get-together was originally organised to welcome Piere Fauchard Academy (PFA) International President, Dr Armyl Banez, and Asia Trustee, Dr Myrna Banez, who were visiting Sydney for the PFA convocation.

The “get-together” inspired A/Prof Tino Mercado and Dr Rouel Vergara to instigate and form the first Filipino dental professional group in Australia. The get together became the official first meeting of the Filipino Australian Dental Association (FADA).

After the initial meeting in July 2022, the founding members of FADA organised the registration of the association through the NSW Fair Trading.

In September 2022, the official FADA constitution was established and an election held.
